Swim the Current have released the official music video for “The Price We Pay,” an emotional rock track centered on loss, memory and the people who help carry us through difficult moments.
The song was produced by George Pond, Chris Reyes and David Caplinger and is out through TLG|ZOID, distributed by Virgin Music Group. Black Label Society bassist JD DeServio appears on the track in a different role, contributing piano.
Bassist George Pond said the collaboration was especially meaningful because he and DeServio have been close friends for years but had never previously recorded together. Guitarist Joe Gareri said the music began as an instrumental during the week his dog Kodi died, before the band developed lyrics around the experience of losing someone close.
Swim the Current’s lineup includes vocalist Marcos Leal, bassist George Pond, guitarist Greg Antine, drummer Chris Moore and lead guitarist Joe Gareri.
The band describes its sound as a mix of hard rock, modern country-rock grit and personal storytelling. “The Price We Pay” is available now, with the official video released as the latest part of the campaign.
