Connecticut metal band Dystopica have released their new six-track EP The Worst In Me through Pavement Entertainment.
The band blends traditional heavy metal influences with a modern edge, building the EP around big choruses, driving riffs, guitar solos and vocalist Becky Brideau’s powerful delivery. The record’s central idea is confronting the darker parts of yourself across six distinct tracks.
Alongside the EP, Dystopica have released a video for “I Will Win This War.” Brideau says the song is about resilience against inner turmoil. The video uses static television screens to represent constant mental noise and a prison-cell setting to symbolize the feeling of being trapped by pressure.
The video was edited by Peter Jones-Torregrosa and filmed at The H.I.P. Studios in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Dystopica have previously shared stages with acts including Gojira, Machine Head, Metal Church, I Prevail, Gemini Syndrome, Adelitas Way, Soil and Burning Witches.
The Worst In Me is out now via Pavement Entertainment.
