Seattle blackened sludge trio STRICKEN have announced their second album, From Dark Dimensions An Unspeakable Presence Awakens, due November 6 through Horror Pain Gore Death Productions.
The first preview is “Darkness Impenetrable,” a crushing track accompanied by a video filmed and directed by Ben Schauland in the foothills of Washington’s Cascade Mountains. Drummer Chris Wozniak describes the song as confronting a darkness so complete that it becomes emotionally and physically oppressive.
STRICKEN features bassist/vocalist Rob Ropkins, guitarist Nick Charlton and Wozniak, whose credits include Lair Of The Minotaur, Earthen Grave and I Klatus. The five-song album moves through sludge, black metal, doom and experimental heaviness while focusing on dread, self-destruction and the darker parts of the subconscious.
The record was engineered by Charlton, mixed by Wozniak and mastered by James Plotkin. Visual artist Tom Denney created the artwork. The track list is “Dust From The Grave,” “Darkness Impenetrable,” “Moonless,” “Touch Of Corruption” and “From Nothing To Nothing.”
