Northern California doom outfit AMAROK release Overcome on September 25, 2026, revisiting the music of their 2024 double album Resilience through ten remixes and reimagined performances. The double album comes through Canada’s Hypaethral Records, alongside a limited CD edition of Resilience.
Where Resilience explored themes including climate catastrophe, grief and endurance through AMAROK’s slow, heavy sound, Overcome invites other artists to reshape those compositions.
New perspectives from across extreme metal
Contributors include Ethan Lee McCarthy of Primitive Man, Leila Abdul-Rauf of Vastum, Andrew Black of Mizmor/Hell live, and experimental music artists Gridfailure, Only Now and others. The track list takes material such as “Charred,” “Ascension,” “Interlude,” “Penance” and “Legacy” through different interpretations across two discs.
Bassist and vocalist Brandon Squyres says the band felt strongly about the original album’s themes but believed close collaborators could bring fresh ideas to the material that the band itself might not have found.

Overcome arrives digitally and as a limited 2CD edition, with 200 physical copies planned according to the label’s announcement. The accompanying Resilience CD edition is likewise limited to 200 copies. The record received an advance full-album stream through New Noise Magazine ahead of release.
AMAROK are Brandon Squyres, Kenny Ruggles-Alaniz, Nathan Collins and Colby Byrn. The band combines funeral doom’s extended forms with elements of black metal and layered guitar arrangements.
