Swedish heavy-metal veterans WOLF have released “Waltz Post-Mortem,” the second single and video from their tenth studio album, Hour of the Wolf. The new record is due November 20, 2026, through Fireflash Records/Edel.
The title says plenty about the track’s unusual arrangement: its chorus moves in 3/4 time, giving the song a waltz feel without abandoning the band’s traditional-metal guitars and harmonies.
A heavy-metal waltz in a haunted house
Frontman Niklas Stålvind describes “Waltz Post-Mortem” as a composition in which sections build toward a climax before returning in reverse order. Director Daniel Wahlström of Heavy Groove Media filmed the video at an old house in the woods near where Stålvind lives. The singer says he had wanted to use that location for nearly two decades.

‘Hour of the Wolf’ arrives November 20
The follow-up to WOLF’s earlier releases contains nine new tracks. The band recorded the album at its own studios, with bassist Pontus Egberg producing. Stålvind, guitarist Simon Johansson, Egberg and drummer Johan Koleberg make up the current lineup. Cover artist Thomas Holm also returns for the album artwork.
Stålvind says the band wanted the record to feel like an album listeners would play from beginning to end, echoing the concise heavy-metal albums that inspired them.
