Seattle sludge and hardcore trio Great Falls have premiered “Debt Ethics,” the latest advance track from their album The Bite That Grows Up. The LP arrives October 16, 2026, on Neurot Recordings, with the single premiering via Lambgoat ahead of a fall tour with Kowloon Walled City.
A personal story behind the heaviness
Guitarist and vocalist Demian Johnston says the new song grows out of a difficult family experience that helped shape the emotional direction of the album. The record combines the band’s noisy, heavily distorted sound with more reflective passages without softening its hardcore roots.
The band is Johnston, bassist Shane Mehling and drummer/vocalist Nickolis Parks. Frequent collaborator John Schork contributed additional instrumentation. The album was engineered by Scott Evans at Studio Litho, mixed at Antisleep and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege. The earlier single “Nicotine In The Spine” features additional vocals from the late Peter Clement Lund of Kollapse.
Tour dates include Detroit and Toronto
Great Falls’ Eastern North American dates with Kowloon Walled City begin October 5 in Milwaukee and include Detroit on October 7, Toronto on October 8, and New York and Philadelphia stops before the album’s release. The band also have November performances with Neurosis scheduled in Portland and Seattle.
The Bite That Grows Up will be available on vinyl, CD and digitally through Neurot Recordings.
