Bastion Rose are leaning into the darker side of October with their new single “Supernatural,” the final advance track from the band’s upcoming album Blue Rising, due January 15.
The Bloomington, Indiana hard rock group says the song looks at the way people use myths, prayers and superstition to cope with the unknown and with mortality. Musically, the track expands the band’s heavy foundation with slide guitar, banjo, harmonica and layered vocal harmonies.
“Supernatural” arrives as Bastion Rose continue working with producer David Bottrill, whose credits include Tool, Rush, Godsmack, Mastodon and Coheed and Cambria. The band says it is already back in the studio working on additional material for 2027.
Blue Rising follows the band’s recent run of releases and is scheduled for January 15. “Supernatural” is available now on major streaming platforms.
