Vienna noise-rock/hardcore trio DESOLAT have released the final preview of their politically charged third LP. “Wannabe V.I.P.” arrives ahead of People As Idiots & Idiots As Leaders, which gets its U.S. release October 9 through a wide DIY network including Reptilian Records and Exotic Fever Records.
The new track takes aim at status-chasing and name-dropping while leaning into a more upbeat punk-rock side of DESOLAT. RBK of Rolltreppe handles the vocals on the single.

“Wannabe V.I.P.” is the third and final single previewing DESOLAT’s People As Idiots & Idiots As Leaders. The album will be released digitally and on marbled oxblood vinyl October 9, with a Vienna release show booked for October 16.
The album features guests including Jarboe, Michael Masen and RBK, was recorded and mixed by Rainer Spänle, and mastered by Dan Swanö at Unisound.
