Brian Greenway of April Wine joins Remzi “Jam Man” Yates for a new Rocking With Jam Man interview about the band’s current chapter, the years with Myles Goodwyn, how April Wine operated behind the scenes, the chemistry of the present lineup, touring, the group’s legacy and what could still be ahead.

Goodwyn’s role in April Wine went far beyond singing the hits. For decades he was central to the songwriting, production and direction that defined the band. His final official live performance with April Wine took place in March 2023, and he died later that year.
Greenway has a perspective few people can match. He joined April Wine in 1977, was there as the group broke internationally, lived through its changing lineups and breakups, and returned when the band reformed. Jam Man uses that history to get into the difference between preserving April Wine’s past and actually making the present-day band feel alive.
A New Chapter for April Wine
April Wine is not operating as a museum piece. The band remains active on the road, and the current lineup is preparing to join fellow Canadian rock veterans Triumph for the second leg of the Rock & Roll Machine Reloaded Tour. Sixteen U.S. dates are scheduled from November 17 through December 12, 2026.
That makes Greenway’s perspective on the band’s current chemistry especially relevant. The interview gets into what has changed onstage, what has changed within the group, and what success would look like for April Wine at this point in its career.
More Than Five Decades of April Wine
Greenway’s history with the band stretches back to the sessions surrounding First Glance. His arrival helped coincide with a harder-edged period that produced some of April Wine’s most enduring material. His own songwriting and guitar work became part of that identity, including “Before the Dawn” and his celebrated solo on “Sign of the Gypsy Queen.”
