Blacklist Union: a big year for Tony West

It’s an especially active time for West. Blacklist Union released the single and video Heavy Is the Crown on October 16, 2026. The song is described as a message of perseverance, and it is part of the rollout for the band’s forthcoming album The Good, The Bad And The Notorious, expected in spring 2027. Earlier releases in this cycle include Jackson and Madame Butterfly.

Jackson brought West together with Femme Fatale singer Lorraine Lewis for a hard-rock reworking of the Johnny Cash and June Carter classic. The collaboration and the band’s recent European touring have kept Tony and Blacklist Union in the spotlight.

Interview and music review

For rock fans, the appeal of Blacklist Union is the refusal to sand away the rough edges. The band’s recent music connects punk’s sense of urgency with the dramatic, guitar-heavy side of classic hard rock. Heavy Is the Crown points toward a resilient, defiant next chapter, while the Jackson collaboration shows another side of West’s musical personality.

This Rocking With Jam Man feature is a chance to spend time with the musician behind those records, rather than just a quick headline or single-song clip. Watch the full conversation above and keep an eye out for shorter interview highlights across Jam Man’s social channels.
