Black Royal Dive Into the Depths With “Extremophiles” Video

Finnish death-sludge band Black Royal have premiered their new single and music video “Extremophiles,” the third preview of Abyssian, arriving October 30, 2026 on M-Theory Audio.

The track takes inspiration from deep-sea brine pools, where extremely salty water creates an environment lethal to most life but survivable for certain microorganisms. Vocalist and lyricist Riku says the pressure, cold and darkness of the ocean floor provided the right atmosphere for the music.

Markus Vähäaho of RAW•ART Creations directed the video. The single follows earlier Abyssian songs “Water of the Crow” and “Drown The Seaweed,” continuing the record’s aquatic themes.

The album was recorded at Studio Watercastle with Arttu Sarvanne, mixed by Jussi Kulomaa and mastered by Jaakko Viitalähde. CD and limited blue-vinyl preorders are available through M-Theory Audio and the band’s Bandcamp.
