German heavy metal veterans GRAVE DIGGER have released “The Number”, the latest single from their upcoming album Faces of Pain.
The album is due January 15, 2027 through Reaper Entertainment. “The Number” takes a darker, mid-tempo route built around heavy riffing, a large chorus and Chris Boltendahl’s unmistakable vocal attack.
The song deals with the loss of identity and human dignity during one of history’s darkest periods, while also pushing a broader message about remembrance, peace and resisting dehumanization.
“The Number” follows the old-school direction GRAVE DIGGER reinforced on their 45th-anniversary album Bone Collector. Faces of Pain is set to mix faster traditional heavy metal tracks with slower, heavier material and darker themes.
The new record will also include songs such as “Faces of Pain,” “Satan’s Tango,” “Legends Never Die,” “When The World Is Calling You,” “Dead Sun” and “Say Hello To The Devil.”
