Interview with Telaport

Rocking With Jam Man talks with Telaport about their new single “Don’t Wait” off their upcoming album, their style of music, Fortnite, playing shows, and what is next for them

Hot new duo TELAPORT drop their sophomore single and video from the much anticipated EP (coming this summer) Better Together – written, produced and performed by D’Lannie and Stevie. The music video was directed by emerging creative Justin Richardson Films.

“Don’t Wait is about loving yourself. Not taking yourself too seriously, and most importantly, not waiting for the perfect moment to love yourself!”

Who is TELAPORT?

A talented innovative duo – D’Lannie (vocals) and Stevie Ray C.(producer/music)

Reigning from Texas, the couple’s unique blend of genres and nostalgic beats gives their music a sonic twist that appeals to global audiences.

“The name means what it sounds like because we want to teleport people to different places in time with our music. We feel our sound is a bridge between the future and the past.”

Born and raised in a suburb outside of Dallas, D’Lannie and Stevie grew up not far from one another. Although their paths never crossed during their adolescence, it became clear when they met that their love for music would be a bond that they shared for a lifetime.

After completing individual projects over the years, some including Stevie’s “La La” with The Jackie Boyz and D’Lannie’s single, “It’s Going Down” with The Movement, they realized that D’Lannie’s angelic soothing voice and Stevie’s whimsical beats and cool tone would make an out of this world musical style and instantly, TELAPORT was formed.

“Our passion is obviously music and one of our goals with TELAPORT is to create an experience through telling stories and creating visuals to help express the themes of our music.”

Their first collaboration as a duo, “Ghost Friends” was released in March of 2022. From writing songs, producing tracks, and creating music videos for their latest project, TELAPORT uses their experiences growing up in diverse family environments, along with the influence of their hometown, to create a fresh sound that is a mix of pop, rap, EDM and R&B.

When they aren’t making music, the duo loves spending time with family, hanging out , and exploring new places. But no matter where they are and what they are doing, one thing is for sure, TELAPORT is a vibe and their fans are feeling it.

“At night we vibe out in the studio and during the day we write and write! Literally, so much music is to come!”

D’Lannie and Stevie also have film making set in their sights and plan to create cinematic-themed projects expanding on TELAPORT’S sound, story, and history. With a clear vision and set purpose, they continue to trailblaze their own lane in the music industry, one creative project at a time.
